Valley Center-Pauma and Julian School Districts had the Least Dropouts from 2017 to 2018

From 2017 to 2018, Valley Center-Pauma Unified and Julian Union High shared the lowest number of dropouts: two. Valley Center had two dropouts among its four schools, and Julian had two among its two high schools.

The graph on the right demonstrates how much higher the dropout rate is at Vista Unified compared to other high school districts in North County. The left graph compares the size of each district to give context to the number of students. The dropout rate of Vista Unified is significantly higher than Poway Unified—Poway had only 37 dropouts throughout 39 schools. This amount aligns with past records but points to a larger problem in the education system in Vista.


Poway Unified has an average of about one dropout per school, as well as Julian Union High and a few other districts. Valley Center-Pauma Unified averages 0.22 dropouts per school in its district.
